The people involved have already managed to obtain over $40,000. They have been using Indiegogo, and the idea is that a total of $100,000 will be reached within a period of about three months.
If the World’s Fair goes ahead, additional publicity could be generated by the use of business card printing from Woodland Hills, especially since the backers of the initiative hope that the event will spark job creation.
Robert Vanech, the chair of the World’s Fair in Los Angeles, has said:
“I see the world's fair as an economic catalyst and showcase of innovation that will create more jobs for California than any other single event or endeavor in U.S. history. Its impact is estimated to bring more visitors to the greater L.A. area than an Olympics and World Cup combined.”
The plan is that the event will be hosted in 2022. Organizers have stated that the fair will last for a two-year period. Both public and private agencies will be involved.
A world fair has not been held in the United States for several decades now. The last one to take place in the country was in New Orleans back in 1984.
