Afters Ice Cream, a chain of ice cream shops that made a name for itself on Instagram, opened a store in Woodland Hills recently.
The shop is in Westfield Topanga's The Village Shopping Center. The fun started early, when the earliest 50 customers were given a bomber jacket with the company's ‘Anti Diet Diet Club’ slogan on them. The slogan is perhaps apt, since the company is known for its handcrafted ice cream flavors, and in particular, its Milky Bun.
The Milky Bun is Afters' signature dessert—a doughnut packed full of ice cream. Customers can choose whatever flavor of ice cream they like, such as Cookie Monster or Milk and Cereal, and then add one topping, like sprinkles. All of this gooey goodness is then injected into a doughnut, either glazed or plain, then the doughnut is heated, resulting in a warm exterior and icy interior.
Afters founder and CEO Scott Nghiem says the Woodland Hills location is the first one to open in 2018, and the company is excited to introduce residents to their treats. He adds the chain intends to open 10 more California locations before the end of the year. This store is open seven days a week from 10:00 am until midnight.
