The Nonprofit Assistance Grant Program has been launched by the city of Vacaville.
The city has $1.265m for financial assistance towards faith-based and non-profit agencies that serve the most vulnerable in the city. Aaron Busch, City Manager, said that the City Council recognizes the important work of these organizations and is offering this grant program with funding from the American Rescue Plan Act.
The availability of such funding can be made known throughout a community with poster printing.
Proposals are being accepted by the city from these organizations that serve seniors, youth, people with disabilities, veterans, and the homeless. Other criteria for this grant include possessing a valid city of Vacaville business license, ability to demonstrate that the organization has been negatively impacted over the past two years, and that it has not been deemed ineligible due to suspension or debarment from previous federal funds.
The funds can be used for funding towards new programs designed in response to, and as reimbursement for expenses related to, the events of the past two years, and to cover decline in revenues or loss of earnings due to cancelled fundraising events.
Proposals need to be submitted to the city by 10:00 am on Monday, October 24. Notification of awarding of funding will be sent to organizations by Wednesday, November 16. Organizations need to spend their funds by the end of 2024.
