Several camps are being held by the City of Vacaville Parks and Recreation Department this summer.
Camp Adobe is for children in grades one through six, with different themes for each week. The week of August 3 is Experiment Extravaganza, while the following week will be Best of Summer. This camp takes place at the Peña Adobe next to Lagoon Valley Park.
Camp Kindness is also for children in grades one through six and teaches compassion and kindness towards animals. There will be guest speakers, some of whom are from the SPCA, which is partnering with the city on this camp. The theme of the camp for the week of July 27 is “It’s a Bug’s Life” while that for the week of August 3 is “Ready, Set, Recycle.”
Pee Wee Camp will be for children between the ages of three and five, with Shark Week coming up the week of August 3.
A new program is Camp Sunshine is for children entering kindergarten. Melody O’Campo, Recreation Supervisor, said this camp was being asked for by the community and has crafts, games, and other activities to keep campers engaged, playing, and interacting with each other as much as possible. The two upcoming sessions will run the weeks of July 27 and August 3.
Such camps can be promoted throughout the community with banner printing.
