Neighborhood associations have been launched in the city of Vacaville. These are programs led by residents that will help to get neighbors working together to improve living conditions, identify common issues and concerns, accomplish specific goals, and stay connected and informed.
These associations will enable residents to work together to create an inclusive and positive environment with direct access to staff in the city who can help each association achieve their goals. Benefits of the associations will include improved maintenance in each neighborhood, enhanced engagement with the community, increased security and safety, and improved sharing and communications about news in the city, community events, and developments in the local areas. Local Print shops often assist with such communications by providing Flyers, mailers, Brochures, and other printed materials.
A chair and co-chair, name of the group, purpose statement, and description of the boundaries of the neighborhood will be required by each association in order to get started. A standard set of bylaws will be provided by the city that groups will be able to expand upon in order to meet the specific needs of their association.
Vacaville City Manager, Aaron Busch, said that these associations will not only bring members of the community together for the benefit of the community but will also enable them to connect to those in City Hall who have the needed resources for achieving their goals.
