The Destination Downtown Storefront Improvement Grant Pilot Program of the city of Vacaville has been launched.
The program is part of the Downtown Specific Plan implementation that was approved by the Vacaville City Council in June. The intention of the program is to re-energize and revitalize the business climate in the downtown core of the city. The program offers grants for both major and minor improvements to facades and window dressing to create a downtown that is visually engaging. The goal is that by strengthening the economic vitality of businesses in the downtown, Vacaville will be transformed into a place where visitors and residents will seek out.
Tenants and property owners in the downtown have been informed of the details of the program by the city. Such details are often outlined in Booklets and Flyers created by local Print shops. The program will be administered by the Economic Development Department. The eligibility of a participant will be determined by the directors of Economic Development Services and Community Development.
The amount of $150,000 has been allocated by the city through Measure M funds for the program. The program will last until all funding has been allocated.
The Downtown Specific Plan was adopted by the city of Vacaville in February 2022 with a pilot program undertaken to make the downtown a destination for residents and visitors.
