The Guild of the Vacaville Museum will be offering its Historical Homes Walking Tours this winter and spring, weather permitting.
The walking tour lasts for two hours, starting and ending in the courtyard of the Museum on Buck Avenue. The tour starts with attendees learning about some local history, followed by a leisurely walk to enjoy more stories about and sights in the area. There is a different route for each walk such that attendees can learn about different parts of the city. Such tours are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing in strategic locations.
The cost for each walk is $15 with no charge for children and is limited to 15 people. Those interested in these walks need to call the Museum to make a reservation between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The $15 person charge can be applied to a membership at the Museum. Participants are asked to dress according to the weather and to wear shoes that are comfortable. There will be refreshments served at the end of each tour.
The mission of the Vacaville Museum is to interpret the history of Solano County with a multi-disciplinary approach. It fosters contacts with other agencies in the county, including the city of Vacaville, the Solano County Arts Council, and the Solano Board of Education, among others.
Tours will be held on the first and third Saturday of each month.
