Three Beam EV ARC solar-powered charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) have been installed in the city of Vacaville.
Town Square has two units, while the other one is at City Hall. The charging station in Town Square is convenient for dining, shopping, and recreational activities while the one at City Hall supports those seeking the services of the city. Local Print shops can assist with informing residents and visitors of such amenities with Flyers and other printed materials.
Each of the charging stations is compliant with ADA regulations, fully autonomous, and can generate and store solar energy to provide needed electricity to EVs at any hour of the day. As these charging stations are solar powered, they do not require any electrical work or ongoing utility bills.
Mayor John Carli said that the installations demonstrate the commitment of the city to a sustainable future. He added that the stations are an example of an innovative solution for visitors and residents, and that they demonstrate how the city is making progress in protecting the environment and reducing emissions.
Funding for these charging stations was made possible by a grant of $250,000 from the Solano Transportation Authority as part of the California Budget Act of 2022. It was also supported by Clean Air Funds in the amount of $104,536 from the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District.
