The Fire Department of the city of Vacaville is asking residents in the area to help support others in need.
The department has a Christmas Fund and is currently accepting donations in the hope of being able to help even more people than it did last year. So that residents become aware of such funds, local Print shops can create Posters to be displayed throughout such cities.
The fund was established over 30 years ago and has a goal to help families in need in Vacaville. Last year, this annual program was able to help 10 seniors in the city and 15 families with gift cards for grocery stores.
The fund is also used to distribute emergency relief to families throughout the year. Organizers of the fund say that every dollar amount contributed to the fund is used to purchase gift cards for those in need in Vacaville.
Checks should be made out to the Vacaville Christmas Fund. The fire department will take donations mailed to their location on Merchant Street or dropped off at the administrative office of the department at City Hall between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.
The mission of the Vacaville Fire Department is to reduce the impact of emergencies in a competent and caring manner.
