Travis Credit Union (TCU), with headquarters in Vacaville and the 13th largest credit union in California, will be donating $1 million to local non-profit organizations in the area providing relief services for COVID-19 that focus on family and youth, education, support for small businesses, and food banks.
Among the 100 non-profit organizations that will be receiving these funds are those that are in Merced, Solano, Napa, Contra Costa, and Yolo counties. Such announcements are often made known throughout the community with many kinds of printing services.
TCU used several criteria to determine the donation that each organization will receive. It looked at statement of immediate needs, scope of service, and total size as well as the types of support that each organization is providing at this time. This donation represents the commitment of TCU as a financial institution that cares about the well-being of communities and their financial needs. TCU is also planning to match up to $4 million that is given to the TCU Foundation from other individuals, corporations, and agencies.
CEO and president of TCU, Barry Nelson, expressed his hope that the philanthropic initiative of his financial institution will encourage other individuals, corporations, and agencies to become new community partners with the TCU Foundation so that more can be done to help other organizations at this time and raise hope in throughout the community.
