An interim executive director of the Downtown Vacaville Business Improvement District (DVBID) has been named.
Maria Alemany will replace Brooke Fox who resigned last month. Announcements of such important appointments are often made known throughout the community with poster printing.
Current member of the DVBID board and past president, Kathleen Ramos, expressed her thrill that Alemany has stepped into this position during a time of transition. Ramos said that Alemany has much knowledge and experience working previously with the DVBID and that it will be great to have a respected member of the community and a familiar face for its members and the residents of Vacaville.
Alemany worked for the San Antonio Spurs in the National Basketball Association before she moved to California to work with the Sacramento Kings for which she managed corporate sponsorships of many millions of dollars. She has lived in Vacaville for the past eight years with her husband and two children.
Alemany expressed her excitement about stepping up to this position and to enable the DVBID to keep moving forward. She added that she loves living in the city and wants the Farmers Market and the downtown area to thrive and become all they can be.
Ramos said that in the meantime a search for a new permanent executive director will be taking place.
