Property purchased in Vacaville manufacturing center

Agenus, Inc., a publicly traded biotech company based in Lexington, Massachusetts, has purchased 120 acres in Vacaville’s upcoming world class biotech manufacturing center.

The center in Vacaville covers a total of 300 acres and is at the intersection of Interstates 505 and 80. Banner printing can be used at such sites to announce important sales.

The property was sold by A.G. Spanos, based in Stockton. Marcus and Millichap, a real estate company with headquarters in Calabasas, brokered the deal. First vice president of investments for Marcus and Millichap, Russ Moroz, said that this sale will have significant implications for the city, as well as the entire region.

He added that this will not only change Vacaville but will show that markets outside of the Bay Area – such as Sacramento, Davis, and others – can attract major biotech companies that have traditionally moved and expanded to areas such as Boston and San Francisco, where there is already an established presence of biotech companies.

Mayor Ron Rowlett said that Agenus is the kind of advanced therapies manufacturer the city was looking for to establish facilities. He added that the city has many strengths to offer companies for such manufacturing and has been making a concerted effort to increase the number of these companies. Its Biotechnology Fast Track permitting program will enable Agenus to become operational as quickly as possible.
