The city of Vacaville and Transwestern Ventures (TWV) are collaborating on the construction of a biomanufacturing campus in Vaca Valley Business Park, at the interchange of Interstates 505 and 80 in Vacaville.
The campus will span 390,000 square feet on just over 22 acres. There will be two phases to the project—the first will be close to 234,000 square feet while the second phase will be just over 158,000 square feet. Banner printing is often used to attract businesses such as healthcare, research and development, and biomanufacturing to such sites for their operations.
The site was purchased by TWV and sourced by Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS). Ken Meyersieck, managing director; Peter Conte, senior vice president; and Andrew Wheeler, president of the TRS Life Sciences team will be overseeing the leasing of the new campus.
Managing Partner of Transwestern Ventures, Fred Knapp, said that the city is a leader in biomanufacturing in the United States, meaning the area is attractive to companies looking for facilities where available space for the life sciences is limited. Knapp added that the region is close to the Berkeley and Davis campuses of the University of California, and the cities of Sacramento and San Francisco, providing extraordinary talent while remaining affordable.
Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed next summer.
