Students in grades kindergarten through twelve are invited to submit their artwork to the Clean Air Calendar Contest for 2021 of the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District.
This district encompasses the northeastern portion of Solano County which, includes Vacaville, Rio, and Dixon, and all of Yolo County.
The theme for this year’s contest is Better Air, Better Health. The contest, which is held every year, is designed to enable students to share their ideas about how to protect the environment and be a source of encouragement for the rest of the community. Poster printing is often used to promote such contests in a district and encourage children to submit their artwork.
There will be 12 winners in the contest, each of whom will receive a Certificate of Achievement, a $30 gift card for Amazon, recognition in a press release, and their artwork being showcased on the calendar for next year.
There is no fee to enter. All artwork needs to be on a standard 8.5- by 11-inch piece of paper in a landscape position and use paint, crayon, colored Pens, and/or pencils. Photography and digital art will not be accepted. The name of the student, their grade, school, teacher’s name, and their home address need to be on the back of the artwork.
All submissions should also be made to the district by Friday, July 31.
