A business based in Tustin will be starting up a class that brings together two Forms of entertainment in late October.
Musical Improv 101 is a lesson run by ImprovCity, an improv comedy club. The class will teach its participants how to make up songs on the fly, first using established song structures, and then progressing to make their own, in addition to patterns and rhythms. The skills learned during the lesson will allow students to improve their understanding and performance in improv. After all the sessions, a show will be put together on the venue’s stage.
ImprovCity offers classes, shows, private events, and corporate training. This class series specifically will be led by Devin Dugan, with Bryce St. Peter serving as the musician for the lessons with his keyboard. Each day of the activity is limited to just 16 participants. Smaller class sizes like this allow for each student to have time to get the help they need from the instructor.
Tickets are available with SimpleTix, and have been given a price tag of $299. This covers all eight of the classes, with one taking place each week on Saturday. Comedy shows and lessons are commonly advertised using poster printing and flyer printing. Each of the events will be from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on their respective dates.
The showcase will start at 5:00 pm on the same day as the last class, December 23rd. The first edition is scheduled for Saturday, October 28.
