In a few weeks, residents of Fulton and nearby Santa Rosa can enjoy a day of food, seminars, and live music.
The 19th Annual Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Festival allows attendees to enjoy food and wine pairings, along with tours of the gardens. Local chefs will create dishes with the many varieties of tomatoes produced in the estate’s culinary garden.
Chefs will compete for the Critic's Choice award. In addition, there will be a Chef’s Challenge, where celebrity cooks will compete in contests. Finally, performing artist Andre Theirry will treat guests to his Creole music.
It is likely the event organizers asked brochure printers to create glossy pamphlets to showcase the various types of tomatoes the estate grows.
General admission costs $95 and includes a festival glass, food samples, wine tasting tickets, and a program. Premier tickets cost $175 and include everything in the general admission price, plus valet parking, a special food and wine sample pairing, and access to the premier event tent. Kendall-Jackson club members will also have their own special tent and food samples.
The event will benefit the Ceres Community Project, an organization that helps encourage healthy communities by teaching teens to garden and cook. Volunteers from the organization also make meals for families in need.
The festival will take place on September 26 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. The Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate and Gardens is located on 5007 Fulton Road.
