Santa Rosa workshop to introduce art of flower pressing

Pressing flowers is an art form that can be used to prepare everything from herbarium collection sheets to suncatchers, jewelry and other items, and a Santa Rosa class will introduce the practice.

The Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation will be offering an introduction to the art of pressing flowers, and it will be held in time to take advantage of the spring flowering season. Area gardener Jan Lochner will lead the experience, and it will be a hands-on session.

The workshop will teach the basics of preparing flowers and other botanical materials for pressing, and Jan will share tips and tricks for getting the best results. Everyone will have the opportunity to craft their own projects, and the materials needed, including pressed flowers, will be included in the ticket price of $37.74 each.
