The Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa is getting geared up for the 20th Annual Battle of the Brews. The event combines craft beers, sandwiches, and music to help support good causes in the area.
The main event is a People’s Choice competition, where more than 50 different microbreweries and food vendors compete to win votes. Aside from this, there is also the Craft Cup, where renowned brewmasters from around the country will go head to head trying to create the best beers. The competition will be judged by a panel made up of industry leaders, and the winner takes the Craft Cup. Awards will also be given for category favorites.
Lastly, the Sandwich Showdown is a competition between top delis in the region, and another judged competition - this time for the best sandwich. Any sandwich type is accepted, though only the tastiest can be declared the winner. Attendees to the event will be given the chance to sample all the beers and sandwiches on display as well as listen to live jazz music.
The money raised from the competition goes towards helping various local youth funds. Over the past 20 years, the Active 20-30 Club has raised over $1m for groups such as the Santa Rosa Boys and Girls Club and Children’s Village.
The Battle of the Brews will take place on April 9 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Grace Pavillion of the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, located at 1350 Bennett Valley Rd. An all access ticket costs $95 and can be purchased in advance. Anyone interested should check the Flyers or the website for more info.Get a Free Quote for Flyers
