Santa Rosa outing to visit birds in their homes

A special spring outing planned for Santa Rosa will welcome the arrival of birds heading to their northern homes, and it will allow those who participate to view species they might not otherwise have an opportunity to see.

A Spring Birding Walk, which is suitable for those with any level of experience, will be hitting the Laguna de Santa Rosa Trail. It will go along at a slow pace, giving everyone time to look and listen out for their feathered friends.

The activity will open with a brief tutorial that will explore binocular use and also the basics of birding, and it will then be time to head out. The group will discuss topics such as avian photography, how to recognize birds by their calls and how to observe them in the wild. Admission will be by donation.

An organized birding walk or other nature-based activity can be a fun way for people to learn about the world around them. A brochure printing company will be happy to prepare Copies of handouts for distribution during an event.

The Spring Birding Walk still has places available at the time of writing, and will be held on Saturday, April 8. The meet-up point will be set up at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Trailhead located at 6303 Highway 12.
