Santa Rosa lights up for the holidays

  • 2020-09-07
A popular Santa Rosa tradition will light up downtown for the holidays with the Winter Lights - Downtown Tree Lighting.

The family-friendly event is free and open to everyone. Residents can RSVP and invite friends and family through Facebook.

The event begins with a bang, with the arrival of Santa Claus. He will be sitting atop a firetruck and attendees can get their pictures taken with Jolly Old St. Nick.

Children can gorge on free cookies and hot chocolate, while adults can purchase beer and wine. Food trucks will have a variety of menu options to choose from.

Live entertainment, a bouncy-castle, face and Christmas ornament painting will be available to keep the keeps occupied.

The evening culminates in a poignant, person-to-person candle-lighting ceremony where attendees are asked to give thanks to family and friends, and to the Santa Rosa community members who have been at the frontlines of numerous crises this year.

After the candles are lit, a giant tree will be lit up with colorful LED lights.

The event is organized by the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber of Commerce and is usually held on the first Friday after Thanksgiving. Banner printing is a great way to promote event sponsors at events such as this one.

Winter Lights - Downtown Tree Lighting 2020 is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 27 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Courthouse Square in downtown Santa Rosa.
