Santa Rosa invited to spring into farm fun

Springtime is nearly here in Santa Rosa, and that means farms throughout the area are welcoming the arrival of this season's babies. To make the occasion, farms will be opening their gates to the public, and this April weekend promises to be as educational as it is fun.

This event is meant to offer a glimpse into the rural life of Sonoma County, and those who would like to be a part of the occasion can choose to travel from location to location at their own pace. There is no charge to participate, and each person who registers will receive a map and program for the weekend's offerings.

At each stop, the public will be invited to visit the animals and try out the activities organized with them in mind. They can try their hand at milking a goat, making cheese, picking a bouquet, or crafting a sample of lavender fragrance. Many of these offerings will be free, and as they go, the participants will learn about the area’s storing rural heritage. Signs provided by local Print shops can help to keep an event like this organized, and make it easy for those who register to find the stops along the way.

This year’s Spring Farm Tour will be held on April 27 and 28. The locations will be released close to the date of the event.
