Santa Rosa historic venue hosts open house

One of Santa Rosa’s popular public gardens has scheduled a mid-spring event that will be all about the joys of home horticulture.

The Luther Burbank Home and Gardens Association has plans underway for its Spring Plant Sale and Open House, and it will take place in time to treat mom to some pre-Mother’s Day fun. There is free street parking on Santa Rosa Avenue.

The activity will see the public treated to open house tours of the Burbank Home, and a scavenger hunt and crafting activities for the kids are in the works. There will be a chance to pose for pictures in period-style clothing, and The Pastry Girl will have gourmet pretzels on offer. Free cookies and lemonade will be handed out in the venue’s greenhouse, and there will be both bouquets and garden plants available for purchase.

Venues that host open house or self-guided tours often order guides from area brochure printing companies to distribute to their patrons. These may provide in-depth information, and can include full-color photos and other graphics.

The Luther Burbank Home and Garden Association will welcome one and all for its open house day on Saturday, May 3. It will take place at 204 Santa Rosa Avenue. Admission is $5 for those age 12 and up, and anyone who would like to save some time may purchase their tickets online.
