Pressing flowers is a craft that has been practiced for many years, and during a local make-and-take activity, Santa Rosa residents will discover how to prepare and use these floral elements.
A workshop that will introduce the art of pressing flowers and the using the finished results in crafting projects will be the focus of a session facilitated by area gardener Jan Lochner. It is a presentation of the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation, and it has a run time of three hours.
The participant in the afternoon will be preparing a variety of items just in time to give as Valentine’s gifts to someone special. They will be able to craft bookmarks, cards and even fridge magnets, and all supplies will be provided. Any minors will need to be accompanied by an adult, and the listing explained that the hope is that the attendees will be bitten by the flower pressing bug themselves.
A crafting class gives community members a chance to learn a new skill in a fun and friendly environment. A flyer printing company may be tasked with preparing marketing materials for both large and small events.
This introduction to the art of working with pressed flowers will be held on Saturday, February 11. Those who reserve a spot are asked to be in their seat by 1:00 pm.
