Fair is the apple of citys eye

Locals in and around Santa Rosa can enjoy some delicious apples, entertainment, and activities at the 42nd Annual Gravenstein Apple Fair.

Along with apples, guests can enjoy cider, wine, and local food. Arts and crafts vendors will be selling items including jewelry, soap, and ceramics. Vendors likely used a business card printing service to create cards to distribute at the fair.

Throughout the weekend, bands will be playing on two different stages. Performers include ‘The Easy Leaves’ (a modern acoustic band) and Cahoots (playing roots music).

The fair will give attendees the chance to experience life on a farm. There will be carriage rides, cow milking, sheep shearing, and many other farm-related activities.

Guests can also sign up for one of the old-fashioned apple games, including a pie eating contest for kids and adults, a caramel apple eating contest, and an apple juggling event.

Advanced tickets cost $12 for adults and $8 for children. On site tickets cost $15 for adults or $10 for those who bike to the event. Tickets for seniors and veterans are $12, kids between 6 and 12 cost $10, while children aged 5 and are admitted free of charge.

The fair takes place on August 8 and 9 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at Ragle Ranch Park, located on 500 Ragle Road in Sebastopol. For more information, call (707) 837-8896.
