Life of California is often directly influenced by its proximity to the Pacific. It provides habitat for wildlife, food and recreation for humans, and affects the overall climate, and a Santa Rosa talk presented by Dr. Jeffery Dorman will explore both this connection and the overall health of the area’s ocean.
Dr. Dorman will be discussing a variety of topics related to the world oceans from both a global and local perspective. The issue of plastic waste and its impact on marine ecosystems is on the agenda, as is climate change. Regional issues such as the commercial fishery and ecosystems along the California coastline will also be included.
Once the presentation has concluded, there will be time for the audience to enjoy some hot beverages and other refreshments while they continue to discuss and explore the issues raised. Pamphlets and other publications that provide more information about the topics up for discussion, as well as details about area organizations that are working to protect the sea can be supplied for an event like this by an area brochure printing company.
Tickets to be a part of this evening that will focus on the relationship between California and the sea that surrounds it will be offered to the public on January 17. Tickets to be a part of the occasion, which will be held at 900 Sanford Road in Santa Rosa, are available for $12 each and donations will also be most welcome.
