Santa Clara workshop to explore oral health during pregnancy

Oral health is an important consideration during pregnancy, and those who work in the field have been issued an invitation to a Santa Clara area event that will investigate the topic. Specifically, this event aims to share ideas to make sure women receive appropriate dental care while they are expecting.

Attendees will have a chance to learn more about the different dental services provided by the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center to Denti-cal patients.

There will be a discussion of the risk factors that can lead to poor oral health during pregnancy and also how symptoms can be controlled until the mother to be can access dental care.

Tips will also be shared on how to get patients engaged in their care. There will also be a review of how certain health concerns, such as diabetes, kidney disease and other issues can be intertwined with poor dental care.

The class is open to any health and oral care professionals who feel it will be helpful to them. RN’s who participate may qualify for free CEU’s. A Print company can use comb binding and other techniques to craft teaching materials for an event like this.

The workshop will be held on November 3rd at California Children’s Services, which is located at 720 Empey Way in San Jose. It is being offered on a free of charge basis.
