Santa Clara 'wines' down at festival

Residents can enjoy art, wine, and fun at a local event coming up soon.

The 35th Annual Santa Clara Art and Wine Festival will have arts and crafts booths selling everything from jewelry to clothing. In addition, well-known and local bands, along with dancers and cheerleaders, will be performing on three different stages.

Children can check out the Kids Kingdom where they can enjoy crafts, tumbling exercises, a petting zoo, and interactive entertainment. Kids can also have their faces painted, play carnival games, go on rides, and get fingerprinted at the Child ID booth.

Since a local Boy Scout troop will provide a pancake breakfast, hungry attendees may want to get to the festival early. Pancakes will be served from 8:00 am until noon. There will also be more than 25 food vendors at the festival. Wine and beer will be sold for $5 a ‘pour’, while glasses and water bottles will be sold for $5 each.

A variety of organizations are sponsoring the event. It’s likely a business card printing service has been busy creating cards for companies to pass out.

The festival will take place on September 19 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, and September 20 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. The event will be held at Central Park, located on 969 Kiely Boulevard.
