Santa Clara to see summer of concerts

This summer, residents of Santa Clara will enjoy a series of concerts in the Central Park Pavilion.

The events are all free, sponsored by the Cultural Commission of Santa Clara, and run throughout the summer. Each event has a different performer or group, lending a different feel to every night.

The upcoming event will feature a group named Orquesta Latin Heat. The group plays different varieties of Latin music, including salsa and Latin jazz. The group has performed at various venues and festivals in the Bay area, and will be returning for their fourth year running in the Summer Concert series in Santa Clara. Based on last year’s performance, attendees can expect lively music and dancing this year as well.

There are four other performances scheduled after the Orquesta Latin Heat night. The performers include The Lyratones, California Groove, The Funky Souls Dance Band, and The Houserockers. Each group has their own style, meaning there are multiple choices, to suit most musical tastes.

The concerts last approximately an hour and a half each, and are either on a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon, alternately. With how popular the concerts were last year, the bands and local businesses that will be represented at the concert will no doubt need to have Business Cards on hand.

The next concert will be on Friday, July 13, starting at 6:30 pm. The following concert dates are July 22, July 27, August 12, and August 17.
