Santa Clara University will be hosting an educational camp focusing on a technology specialty in late July.
Getting Started in Data Science Research Workshop is a multi-day, hands-on experience for kids who are not in college yet, but are interested in pursuing data science when they do get there. Professors who work at the school will oversee and lead the lessons each day. The activities will span across the entire pipeline, from data ingestion to presentation. Campers will get to experience what college can be like, while also potentially earning a spot to partake in contests related to data science.
Data science is broken into several steps. As described by IBM, these are data ingestion, data storage and data processing, data analysis, and communicate. The final step, communicate, asks the scientist to take the results and put them into a language or image that others will be able to make decisions based on.
The events will run over five days. Lunch will be provided by the university’s dining hall each day. The check-in process will be open from 8:30 am to 9:00 am each morning of the camp, with pick-ups running from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Flyers will often be created with the Logo Design of the hosting school when it comes to experiences being held at one.
Admission to the camp comes with a $1,199 price tag and can be booked using AllEvents.in. The dates for the activity are July 24 to July 28.
