A local organization is continuing its annual event that focuses on giving a platform to children with special needs.
Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN) is a non-profit organization. Its goal is to aid individuals with special needs through family support, programs, and other services. The Special Needs Talent Showcase was initially formed in 2012 exclusively for those who were members of FCSN or their families. The event was so popular that just three years later, the doors were opened to the entire special needs community.
When the Covid pandemic hit, the show grew even bigger, with participants from other countries also taking part in the first virtual edition. Since then, the virtual show has continued alongside the live event, in order to continue giving international talents a platform.
The three highest ranked acts will be presented with $400 and a trophy. Two additional prizes will also be given - Best Showmanship and People’s Choice. The audience will vote for the latter, and the recipient is set to receive $300 and a trophy. For the Best Showmanship award, the winner will get $100 and a trophy. The venue is the Santa Clara Convention Center Theater. Flyer printing is commonly used to promote talent shows like this to the local community.
Tickets are on the Special Needs Talent Showcase website. Attending the show live is either $10 a ticket, or $50 for a VIP spot. The event is beginning at 4:00pm and should run until about 6:30pm on Saturday, April 13.
