The Santa Clara Vanguard 50th Anniversary Gala takes place this month. The evening combines food, entertainment, dancing, and more as the city celebrates one of its signature groups.
The Santa Clara Vanguard is a drum and bugle corps that is considered one of the most entertaining such groups in the world. They currently hold six world championship titles from the Drum Championship International Competition. Their anniversary coincides with the 60th anniversary celebration of the Concord-based drum and bugle corps, the Blue Devils.
The gala will feature a plated dinner with entree choices that include porcini goat, glazed salmon, New York strip steak, and four cheese ravioli. A silent auction will also be held for Vanguard Promotional Products, memorabilia, and more. Afterwards the Vanguard will join together with the Blue Devils for a group performance that will feature more than 700 performers. This will be followed up by a set by the Tommy Igoe Groove Conspiracy, which will feature an open dance floor.
Additionally, both individual and group tickets come with special discounts for this year's DCI, located in nearby Stanford.
The Santa Clara Vanguard 50th Anniversary Gala will take place on June 24 from 6:00 to 11:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, located at 5101 Great American Pkwy.
