Santa Clara invited to nearby Mexican celebration

Day of the Dead celebrations are an important part of their culture for many people in Santa Clara and the surrounding areas, and an invitation has been extended to one and all to come to the Dia de los Muertos activities that will be held in San Jose next month.

The community will once again be hosting a La Ultima Parada celebration, and according to its organizers, it will be bigger and better than ever before. The two-day festivities will show case the culture of Mexico, and there will be live demonstrations of music, dancing and more that honor the connection between this world and the next. The excitement will kick off with the Alum Rock Avenue Altar Walk, and there will also be a themed dance party. These are both free and everyone will be welcome.

The next day, there will be a parade, a community masked dance, and live music. Food and drink inspired by Mexican culture will be on offer, and there will be displays of art, a marketplace, and the event’s signature giant Ferris wheel will also be back for another year.
