Santa Clara hosts different kind of race

This year, Terrain Race comes to the Santa Clara area to set up a unique 5K course. This will include various obstacles, and will be held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.

Terrain Race creates one-of-a-kind courses out of the terrain used. It implements obstacles such as mud, monkey bars, ropes, and more. These races are not designed for the super-fit only – they say that anyone who can jog or walk three miles and can do some sit-ups and push-ups will be fine running one of their courses.

Registration is open for this event. Attendees will receive a free race T-shirt and medal, and will be given a bib before the race starts. Timing is optional on this course. Photos will be taken during the race and will be available after.

After the race, there will be a festival area open with food, drinks, and vendors. Many of the vendors will have items to give away, and attendees are encouraged to hang out and enjoy themselves.

This event may use banner printing to help advertise, as well as to alert attendees to the location of the actual race. This race will have multiple start times, so there will likely be waves of people coming and going. Parking will be $10 per car.

The race will take place on both June 8 and 9, next Saturday and Sunday.
