Residents of Santa Clara County can now receive free flu shots every Saturday.
The county offers free shot clinics every year, and this year will be the first time it has been held outdoors which makes it easier for walkers and cyclists to stop by.
Shiloh Ballard from the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, speaking to sfgate.com, was especially happy that the new set-up is being made so easy for people to access. People will not have to worry about whether they location is accessible with a bicycle or a car. Flyer printing can be used to educate people about such programs.
County executives also want to use this an opportunity to remind people how important the flu shots are. County Executive Jeff Smith stated:
“This is not a vaccine against COVID. The flu is not related to COVID. What the flu vaccine will do is prevent you from ending up in the hospital and making sure that we have hospital availability for those who are very sick.”
Officials also want to remind people that they have to have their flu shots every year. The free vaccines are available at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in front of the blue arch. The vaccinations are open to all residents older than 3 years old from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm every Saturday.
