Families in the Santa Clara area are looking to start off their Halloween celebrations with the Children’s Halloween Party at the YAC.
The afternoon event provides a broad range of seasonally themed activities meant to appeal to younger residents in the area.
Children are encouraged to come in costume, as there will be a contest during the party with prizes going to the best costumes in various age groups. A series of trick or treat houses will also be set up, allowing children to enjoy some indoor treat gathering before the evening begins. The party additionally features a pumpkin walk outside on the grass, where attendees navigate a labyrinthine collection of carved and decorated pumpkins.
The events will also feature a number of bounce houses provided by Cosmo Jumps, and carnival-style games where kids can test their luck and skill to win prizes. An arts and crafts section will also be set up at the party, allowing visitors to make some Halloween-themed items to take home with them. Some refreshments will be served and live entertainment will also be available, but the exact lineup has not yet been announced.
The Children’s Halloween Party at the YAC will be held on October 31 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Walter E. Schmidt Youth Activity Center, located at 2450 Cabrillo Ave. Admission is free for children in fifth grade and below.
