Locals get their hooks and needles ready

Individuals who enjoy knitting and crocheting are in luck, because Stitches West is coming to the Santa Clara Convention Center.

During the event, individuals can take a wide variety of classes that range from intarsia knitting to seams. Each class has a skill level such as easy, intermediate, and advanced. For beginners, there are even classes with no skills required.

Attendees can also go to several events, including a luncheon, a fashion show, and a pajama party.

At the market, vendors will be selling yarn and various knitting and crocheting items. Individuals can also look forward to free demonstrations and book signings. No doubt vendors have asked a catalog printing service to make Booklets to distribute.

Individuals can purchase class time in three-hour increments. For instance, three class hours costs $85 while 21 class hours cost $435. There are also admission costs for some events and special packages.

It all starts February 19 with an opening day spotlight at 10:00 am, followed by a luncheon, classes, and a ‘Market’ preview. On February 20 through February 22, classes will go on from 8:30 am until 11:30 am, followed by various events.

On February 22 and 23, there will be an additional two-day ETC (Explore, Transform, and Challenge) event, where individuals can attend in-depth workshops. During this time, attendees will be able to listen, learn, and practice.

The Santa Clara Convention Center is located on 5001 Great America Parkway.
