Harvest time feast planned near Santa Clara

A local event will be returning to the Santa Clara area for its 44th year, and everyone is invited to join in the celebration.

Cupertino’s Blackberry Farm will be the venue for the 44th annual Chicken, Corn and Sausage Feed, which is being brought to the community through the support of the Cupertino Host Lions Club. The meal will kick off with an assortment of starters, including veggie platters, deep fried calamari, barbequed sausages and ribs, a variety of hot breads, chicken wings, and freshly harvested corn on the cob served with plenty of melted butter.

The main course for the day will include barbequed chicken accompanied by a tossed salad, potato salad, barbequed Italian sausage, garlic bread, homemade chili, and more corn on the cob. Guests can enjoy the meal and then socialize while they mingle with new friends over food and a cup of coffee. A local printer can be called upon to supply customized Banners and other decorations for a casual celebration such as this.

This celebration of the bounty of the harvest season will be held on August 19 at Blackberry Farm, which can be found at 21979 San Fernando Avenue in Cupertino. Ticket prices are $30 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 14, and those under 6 will be admitted free of charge.
