San Rafael is hosting an exploration into nature through Lego bricks in mid-June.
The interactive experience is set to allow kids to both play and learn. They will be able to build creatures of all kinds, along with instructors informing them of fun facts about the animal kingdom. This is a camp for children ages 5 to 10, and will include teaching engineering skills
The camp has 100,000 of the colorful bricks for children to use. Taking pictures of the finished projects is encouraged, due to the fact that the builds are not allowed to be taken home. The host’s website suggests sending children with a disposable camera if parents are unable to arrive 30 minutes before the class ends to see it in person.
The host of the event, Play Well Teknologies, plans to allow a snack period, which may occur outside depending on the weather. However, parents must provide their child with their own food, which cannot contain peanuts due to allergy risks.
Due to Covid-19, the group sizes will have to be smaller than a typical year. Parents are asked to sign their kids in at the beginning of the day, and out again at the end. Miller Creek, a local middle school, is the venue for this five-day event. Camps like this often include signage with the company Logo Design guiding the campers and their family members to the correct area of the building.
The camp will be from June 14 to June 18, and running from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm each day.
