Ludacris (Christopher Brian Bridges), a native of Champaign, Illinois, built his career in Atlanta, Georgia, where he moved when he was a child. He wrote his first rap when he was nine, and has extensive credits not only in music but as a film and television actor as well.
His music career began in Atlanta when he was a DJ at what is now Hot 107.9 (then Hot 97.5). He created his own label, Disturbing the Peace, and released his 1999 debut album, “Incognegro.” Def Jam Recordings signed him, and he released “Back for the First Time,” which was rated Triple Platinum by the RIAA, with them. He has gone on to create a substantial body of work. A concert review says:
“Ludacris. That's the one word I think of when I think of the greatest rappers out there who spit the best lyrics as well as having one of the greatest personalities out there.”
Childish Major (Markus Alandrus Randle) is based in Atlanta and began his career as a record producer, switching to performing in 2015, and dropping his studio album debut, “Dirt Road Diamond” in 2019. Ludacris was featured in the single “No Sweat” on this album.
Ludacris and Childish Major will be at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on June 5. To promote events like this, organizers often turn to poster printing.
