Caleb Cornett, who goes by the name Amtrac, is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, singer, electronic music producer, and DJ. He is a native of Morehead, Kentucky, but is now based in Louisville, and is on the Super Music Group, which operates out of Miami. “Came Along,” his initial music video, made its debut in late 2011, on Clubland, MTV’s late-night block of dance music videos.
A critic said that the artist:
“. . . has just the right mixture of pop and cutting-edge sonics to break through the void.
“. . . [the song features] a rapid, crunchy beat and electric piano figures [that move] to a thoroughly mature songwriting space.”
Amtrac’s music has also been described as handcrafted, with the kind of nuanced layering usually found in a band. He mixes styles and textures into an aural voyage that appears on his second album “Oddyssey.” He is present in every moment of the piece, from composition and production to performance and vocals.
Amtrac built his career with a series of appearances at festivals, and toured in support of other artists. He will be at the Music Box on Monday, November 16. Attendance at events like this can be enhanced when organizers work with poster printing to create advertisements that will support the performance.
