Melanie Martinez first became known to audiences for her appearance on “The Voice” in 2012. Martinez signed with Atlantic Records after the show, and released “Dollhouse,” her debut single, on that label. Her EP version of the same name came out in 2014.
Her rise truly began in 2015, when she dropped “Cry Baby, “a studio album. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album Double Platinum, and the songs “Soap,” “Pacify Her,” “Cry Baby,” “Mrs. Potato Head,” “Mad Hatter,” and “Sippy Cup” were all certified Gold, with two more songs, “Pity Party” and “Dollhouse,” receiving Platinum certification.
In 2019, she released “K-12,” pronounced “K through 12,” explaining that she wanted to explain the stories that she began in the previous album. “K-12” was a sensational success, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, No. 1 on the Alternative Album chart, and scoring another No.1 debut on the Soundtrack album chart. Her most recent album is “Portals,” dropped in 2023. To date, RIAA certifies she has sold 2.5 albums and 15.5 million singles in the U.S.
A review says:
“Melanie Martinez will be a global act in a matter of years . . . buy tickets now while they [are] . . . not sold out!”
Martinez will be at the Viejas Arena in San Diego on June 10. When organizers plan events like this, poster printing can help create exciting advertising.
