It's grown from a small gathering to the biggest pop culture event in the country, and it's in San Diego.
It's Comic-Con International, of course, which draws thousands of celebrities, artists, and fans of movie memorabilia, comic Books, and everything to do with pop culture. The four-day event has become a staple of summer in San Diego, attracting as many as 130,000 visitors.
Attendees can enjoy panel discussions with artists and casts of television shows and feature films; attend seminars, and enjoy workshops led by professionals in the video game and comic book industries. In the evenings there are awards ceremonies, and costume contests. Entrants in the Masquerade often construct costumes as good as anything done by professionals. The Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival is a highlight of the event, showing feature films and shorts that have not been picked up for distribution.
Other events include a wide selection of films that are shown throughout the convention, plus rooms dedicated to gaming, and Japanese animation. Exhibitors include collectibles vendors, comic-book dealers, television networks, and film studios, plus there is an area where celebrities sign autographs, and the Artists' Alley, where fans can meet the comic book artists.
Comic-Con 2020 is scheduled for July 23-26, and tickets are already on sale. Flyer printing is a great tool to provide handouts to attendees at events like this.
