On August 10, San Diego leaders announced the upcoming Innovate San Diego Week, a nine-day celebration of the innovative accomplishments happening in the city.
Partners in the week are San Diego itself, along with the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, Maker Faire San Diego, TwitchCon 2016, the SD Hacks of the University of California, and the CRSSD Festival. The week is designed to display the creativity and ingenuity to be found in the region.
SDHacks will take place at UCSD, and is a 36-hour ‘hackathon’, during which undergraduates from all over the country get together to collaborate to devise computer programs, and find answers to technical difficulties. Last year, over 1,000 students from all over the world applied to participate in SDHacks.
TwitchCon is for devotees of the Twitch gaming and social media platform. Attendees will be able to meet the people behind the brands that make the hardware, games, and software they enjoy. They will be able to see the latest games, and buy exclusive Twitch merchandise.
The CRSSD music festival will run for two days at the Waterfront Park in front of the County Administration Center. The festival features disc jockeys who play electronic dance music (EDM).
Innovate San Diego Week is scheduled for September 30 through October 8. Officials like these can benefit by contacting postcard printing companies, who can create cards for mass mailings.
