Titus Andronicus formed in New Jersey in 2005, and their carefully constructed studio albums have led to their status as one of the most unique punk bands to ever take the stage.
Their debut album, “The Airing of Grievances,” was released in 2008. With Patrick Stickles as frontman, the album is full of hard-driving punk rock and choruses. Featuring songs with titles like “Upon Viewing Brueghel's Landscape with The Fall of Icarus,” the album introduced a group not afraid to draw upon literature and mythology for inspiration.
Their debut album won critical acclaim, and received rave reviews from sources as varied as Pitchfork and The Guardian. They released “The Monitor,” their sophomore album, in 2010. A hugely ambitious project, “The Monitor” was a metaphor for the American Civil War. Again, critics noted them as a band willing to push the boundaries of the genre. They have released seven studio albums to date, dropping their latest, “The Will to Live,” in 2022.
