San Diegans who love zydeco music, dance, and Cajun food should mark their Calendars now for the upcoming Gator by the Bay festival.
Gator by the Bay is an annual event sponsored by The Bon Temps Social Club of San Diego. “Bon temps” means “good times” in French, from the New Orleans slogan “Laissez le bon temps rouler,” usually translated as “let the good times roll.”
The festival brings authentic Louisiana-style food and music to Southern California, with four days of live music, food—especially crawfish—and fun. The event is scheduled for Spanish Landing Park, located on San Diego Bay. There are more than 100 musical acts on the schedule, who will have seven stages on which to perform jazz, blues, Cajun, and zydeco. Everyone is encouraged to get up and dance to the lively tunes. Organizers of events like this can use banner printing to decorate the venues.
Tons of crawfish are being trucked in from Louisiana to join other Louisiana specialties that will delight hungry festival-goers. New Orleans favorites including etouffée, po' boys, jambalaya, and gumbo, with desserts like bread pudding, sweet potato pie, beignets, pralines, and homemade ice cream will be on the menu.
The fun begins Thursday, May 9, from 6:00 pm until 10:30 pm; on May 10, hours are from 3:30 pm until 10:30 pm; May 11, the festival runs from 10:30 am until 8:00 pm; and on May 12, the hours are 10:30 am until 7:00 pm.
