A man who's been part of rock music for over 50 years will appear soon in San Diego.
William Royce Scaggs is better known as “Boz,” and is a songwriter, vocalist, and guitar master. He first rose to fame when he was with the Steve Miller Band in the 1960s. After going solo, he charted several times in the 1970s with his singles, and his album, “Silk Degrees,” went to the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200. It also earned him a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. The song “Lowdown,” which won the Grammy for Best R&B Song, was from this album.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Scaggs recorded and released a total of seven studio albums, and is best known for the work he did in those decades. He has continued recording intermittently, and touring. He had another major success in 2015 with his album “A Fool to Care,” which went to the top spot on the Billboard Blues Album chart.
