One of San Diego's major attractions is saying “thank you” to the city's firefighters.
The San Diego Zoo Safari Park, the popular zoological park in North County, is giving firefighters who are now on active duty free admission to the park until the end of the month of September. As many as six friends or family members will be given 10% off the admission for a one-day pass as well. All scheduled shows, the Cheetah Run, and the Africa Tram are all included with the free pass.
The Safari Park is part of the San Diego Zoological Society, which also includes the San Diego Zoo. The Zoo is located in Balboa Park in the city's downtown, but the Safari Park is approximately 30 miles north of the city. The facility covers approximately 1,800 acres, and houses over 2,600 animals from 300 different species. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts describing activities available at venues like this.
The park comprises huge enclosures where the animals roam together as they would in their natural habitat. Visitors ride through the enclosures on the Africa Tram, from which they can see giraffes, antelope, rhinos and other animals—predators such as lions, tigers, and cheetahs are not allowed to run free. Restaurants, gift shops, and a number of shows are part of the fun at the Safari Park.
