One of the most popular, as well as unusual, Forms of entertainment is on the way to San Diego.
Cirque Du Soleil is presenting their show “Ovo” at the Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl, for a total of six performances. According to Cirque sources, insects were the inspiration for the show, and specifically, their movement. The production is full of performers costumed as insects who crawl, leap, and fly, and have names such as “Firefly,” “Dragonfly,” and “Master Flipo.” The music for the show is by Berna Ceppas, who was inspired by Brazilian tunes. The title of the show, “Ovo,” is Portuguese for “egg,” and is the unifying theme of the production. Brochure printing can create colorful programs for productions like this.
Cirque du Soleil’s earliest performances were in 1979, when the company was a small troupe of performers. Over time, they refined their style and began to receive government funding, allowing them to expand into the international sensation they are today. They have created more than 50 shows, some of which are touring, and some of which are resident in venues such as the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Others have been retired as more are designed.
Cirque performs March 5 at 7.00 pm; March 6 at 7.30 pm; March 7th at 4.00 pm and again at 7.30 pm; and March 8 at 1.30 pm and 5.00 pm. Doors open one hour before every performance.
