Pleasant Hill to have cookie decorating course
Those interested in learning cookie decorating techniques can attend a class this December at ‘I heart Art’ in Pleasant Hill.
The Artisan Holiday Cookie Decorating event is a course where students learn how to create cookie masterpieces by following simple steps. There will be many topics covered in the class, such as how to roll and cut cookies, how to make and color icing, and how people can perfectly outline cookies. The workshop will include 12 pre-baked cookies, frosting, an instructional guide, and cookie bags and gift boxes.
The lesson will be taught by Vicky Teckemeyer, who works as a cake designer in the Bay Area. Her dessert creations have been featured in publications like Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, and Trendy Bride Magazine. Teckemeyer will be teaching students how to design cookies that look like snowy trees, knit mittens, and woven stars. Businesses with classes like this can use brochure printing to make take-home guides that attendees can keep.
The Artisan Holiday Cookie Decorating event will be held on Friday, December 6 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The cost will be $80 per student, with all materials included. Those interested in attending the lesson must register by November 29. The course will be for people who are 16 and older. A light snack will be provided, though guests must bring their own sips.
