Classic fairytale story gets new spin in Pleasant Hill

The drama department at Diablo Valley College will be debuting a play centered around Wendy Darling's life after Neverland. The play will be taking place this November at the Pleasant Hill campus.

The drama picks up where J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan leaves off. The play was written by Kimberly Belflower. Looking for ways to move on, Wendy plans on finding Peter again after years. Wendy plots to take back a kiss from Peter to finally help her move on. During her journey, she soon makes the discovery that she's not the only girl making a visit to Neverland; there are a few other girls too.

The production is led by student director Emma Wydogen alongside faculty advisor Nicole Hess-Diestler. Depicting Peter Pan is Colton Silva, and Camryn Ornelas will be portraying Wendy.

DVC Drama's four-show season will take place across both the Performing Arts Center and the intimate Arena Theater. This program has produced students who have gone on to attend universities like Yale School of Drama and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
